Kyle Davidson and the Chicago Blackhawks are ramping up efforts for the draft, as NHL prospect Porter Martone has tried to sell himself as a top prospect through the media.

Porter Martone is a consensus 1st-round pick and could be one of the Chicago Blackhawks' selections if they miss Michael Misa or Caleb Desnoyers. Nothing is set in stone, though, as two other teams will have to decide who they'll draft beforehand.
Should Martone be the best player available at the moment, the team could select him. But as we all know, this season isn't the deepest NHL draft we've seen, and each team will have already spoken to the prospects they've wanted to at the combine.
The Blackhawks will be scrutinizing responses and performances before they make the final call on June 27th in the 1st-round, and Martone understands how to work the media for his benefit.
While Martone may not be the Blackhawks' 1st choice as 3rd OA, he is sold on the team already and wants to be a part of the rebuild, and play with both Connor Bedard and Frank Nazar.
«It's something special they have going on in the Blackhawks organization right now. The prospect pool they've built up, they've got Connor Bedard and Frank Nazar. They've got a bunch of players you can see them building around [of]. It'd be an honor to be selected by such a great organization,» Martone said in dialogue with CHGO Blackhawks podcast.

He's gone as far as to say that the team will be competing for a Stanley Cup, and he wants to help win one in Chicago:
«It's something special you can see there. They have a core group, they're going to keep adding pieces, and you can see them winning the Stanley Cup in the times of coming.«

This season in 57 games with the Brampton Steelheads, he scored 98 points (37-61) and could be picked in the top-10 of the 1st-round, though we should expect it to be earlier.
Do you think Jeff Blashill, Kyle Davidson and the front office are sold on Porter Martone?
