According to NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman, a decision has been made on whether or not GM Kyle Dubas of the Pittsburgh Penguins will trade Sidney Crosby.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have been trading away players this postseason in an attempt to begin the long process of a rebuild. For many players, the idea of playing through a 5-year slog without success isn't ideal.
For Penguins Captain
Sidney Crosby, he hasn't been very vocal about the situation in Pittsburgh. The silence is deafening.
So NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman has offered some insight into how the Penguins will approach the superstar center.
If Sidney Crosby Is To Be Traded, It Will be After The Start of The Season
Elliotte Friedman on Sidney Crosby: He's going to start the year with the Penguins, I don't think there's any doubt about that; he certainly won't be traded this summer - 32 Thoughts Podcast. "
On the 32 Thoughts Podcast, it appears that Friedman has dropped another set of facts on us all about the Penguins' situation.
While he didn't discount the possibility of a trade occurring, it won't be during the summer as he will helm the Penguins at the beginning of the rebuild.
Sidney Crosby will instead help lead the team throughout the beginning of the rebuild with Dan Muse at the helm as Head Coach.
Muse, a former New York Rangers assistant coach, has a tall task ahead of him: rebuilding the Penguins into a cup-winning team. Something they haven't done since the 2016-17 season.
For Sidney Crosby, this is a pivotal moment in his career, as he could decide to request a trade, but instead has chosen to stay a Pittsburgh Penguins player.
