The incident started when Will Smith reacted to a joke that Chris Rock had made about his wife's hair, Will Smith Smith was seen laughing at the joke-until he wasn't seen at all. Will Smith headed to the stage to defend his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, and slapped Chris Rock across the face.
