Oilers issue update on Duncan Keith after scary looking injury
Duncan Keith was knocked unconscious last night after slamming hard into the end boards. Keith was clearly in rough shape and he immediately entered concussion protocol due to his loss of consciousness. The former Blackhawk was down for a few minutes before being assisted to the lockerroom.
Today the Oilers issued an update on Keith's condition. According to the Oilers General Manager, Ken Holland, Duncan Keith has entered concussion protocol, but is also dealing with some significantly upper-body soreness after colliding with the boards.
Keith's return is expected to take 1-2 weeks, but he will be forced to clear concussion protocol before being able to return to any NHL activity.
Luckily it seems the former Hawk got lucky, because the images from Wednesday night looked like the prognosis could be far worse.
