A key Chicago Blackhawks veteran forward had to leave last night's game against the Boston Bruins due to an injury.
The Chicago Blackhawks' start to the season hasn't been going too well for now. Although the team offered great competition on the ice in the first two matchups against the Florida Panthers and the Boston Bruins, new head coach Jeff Blashill is yet to get his first win behind the bench.
Jeff Blashill Provides Comments After Jason Dickinson Leaves Game With Injury
Jason Dickinson faced his fair share of injury-related adversity in the past years, notably being limited to 59 games last season.
Here we are, at the second game of the regular calendar, and he's already facing some more challenges.
Indeed, he had to leave the game in the second period, and the Chicago Blackhawks announced a few minutes later that he wouldn't return:
After the game, Jeff Blashill didn't have much information to share about the player's health, saying that he will know more today.
Here's what he said last night:
"I'll know more tomorrow. No real update yet. Obviously didn't finish the game, so that's not great. We'll see where it goes."
Dickinson centered the third line with
Ilya Mikheyev and
Ryan Donato on his wings. It wouldn't be surprising to see
Ryan Greene promoted to that spot and another player getting called up to center the fourth line before tomorrow's game against the Montreal Canadiens.
