The NHL playoffs are nearing a end as we have our Eastern and Western conference finalists battling it out to see who will move on to the cup final, the Edmonton Oilers vs the Colorado Avalanche and the Tampa Bay Lighting against the New York Rangers.
One thing that has been quite noticeable throughout the first three rounds throughout the league is the officiating, you can swap channels between playoff games and witness two completely different refereed games. From missed calls, to calls that shouldn't be called, we have seemed to reach a all-time low for reffing in the NHL playoffs.
The issue is much bigger situations spark out when basic calls should be made, as they could be avoided if they were called properly in the first time. Especially if it is involving targeting of a player, the NHL safety will be sure to keep an eye out moving further with the Tampa New York series.
