Ex-Blackhawk Patrick Kane sends a message to Connor Bedard ahead of facing former team Sunday
This game should prove to be an exciting event. Both teams are celebrating their 100th birthdays, and both teams' roster superstars in their lineup.
For the Detroit Red Wings, it's the new home of American-born legend, Patrick Kane. This will be another matchup between Kane and Bedard, which should be one of the storylines we pay attention to.
The duel between the former 1st-round picks will be front and center, as the Detroit Red Wings look to break their slump.
Patrick Kane Sends Connor Bedard A Message
One thing the game of hockey is never missing is the respect between players. As Kane meets with his former team once more, he'll be matching up with another generational talent like himself, in Connor Bedard.
He paid him a huge respect with a complimentary message on his skills and abilities in his third year in the NHL.
He has been particularly impressed by Connor Bedard.
«He's a special player,» Kane said. «He's able to control the puck and make plays that other guys can't. That's just the reality of it. He does what other guys can't do in the league.»
Bedard, who's been the anchor for the team this season, has scored 22 points (8-14) and is poised to take the Blackhawks further than they've been before.
Although he has a better supporting cast this year, Kane's compliment speaks highly of how Bedard's evolved and grown as an NHL star.
In his first two seasons, he scored 128 points, and could seek to double his output this year under Jeff Blashill.
Bedard's career starting stats have fans excited as we get to see another potential superstar under the United Center roof again.
We'll see who is the victor after the dust settles in Detroit; our money is on Chicago.
