After the Chicago Blackhawks won 5-2 at Rogers Arena this week in Vancouver, the Canucks could be forced into a future rebuild, putting GM Patrik Allvin in an uncomfortable position.

According to a report from NHL Insider Rick Dhaliwal of Donnie and Dhali, the team may have to undergo a rebuild to find themselves back in the win column and playoff discussion.
However, a move like that could spell disaster for Quinn Hughes, as he and the President of Hockey Operations, Jim Rutherford, could leave the club.
The Blackhawks packed such a walloping in that 5-2 win that the team is undergoing an existential crisis.
"Rick Dhaliwal was asked about the potential for the organization to undergo a rebuild. Dhaliwal said that the team's ownership group, led by Francesco Aquilini will not allow one to go through for a number of different reasons, one being that it would likely mean both Quinn Hughes and President of Hockey Operations Jim Rutherford will depart the club."-Jaxon

The Chicago Blackhawks Have Become a Dominant Force on Ice

The Blackhawks finished the night with a Tyler Bertuzzi hat-trick, giving Spencer Knight a taste of Vezina-Caliber play, with a .956 save percentage.
While Evander Kane would score a goal and earn one star for the night.
Despite the bright spots in the lineup, the team is in the thrall of chaos, as the team will have to look to drafting and building through development in order to build a Stanley Cup-winning roster.
The idea of acquiring a 2nd-line center, like Nazem Kadri or Pavel Zacha, is a non-starter in order to find themselves in playoff contention.
For the future, they should consider optimizing the lineup in order to find themselves in the best draft position in 2026, as the team could find franchise-worthy players, including Gavin McKenna.
David Quadrelli and Harman Dayal discussed the possibility of a rebuild.
"We often think through the lens of 'this organization won't rebuild,' so we don't talk about it. We've looked at it as, what can this team do to get there without a rebuild? I'm at the point now where, best case scenario, this team can't get to a point where they're contending for a Stanley Cup without a full rebuild. You have to do the hard work and go through those painful years."-Quadrelli

The Canucks are now 7-8-0 and 6th in the Pacific Division.
The team acquired forward Lukas Reichel in a trade for a fourth-round pick recently, and it appears that the implosion has begun.
