Gruesome Injury Photo of Skate Blade to The Face During Blackhawks Game
Hockey can be tough, and injuries are part of the game. Jakub Lauko recently suffered a severe injury when a skate blade hit his face.
SCARY SCENE: Boston Bruins Defenseman Jakob Lauko just frantically left the ice after taking a skate blade to the face. Replays show he was cut just above the eye.
He bravely shared images of his injuries just two days later.
Despite the seriousness, Lauko kept his sense of humor, joking about his modeling dreams may not be down the drain. Lauko's eye is swollen and stitched, but it didn't touch the eyeball, according to coach Jim Montgomery.
Recovery is uncertain with a bone fracture, and doctors need a week for the swelling to go down.
Lauko had played in 29 NHL games before the injury, and can hopefully get back to more this season.
