This has kept him out of the lineup for the last two months straight and tonight he makes his triumphant return to the Blackhawks lineup.
The 34-year-old centre has played some of this NHL season but not all, where he has played 46 games, scored fourteen goals and 14 assists for 28 points. With the team in a terrible state defensively he holds a - 24.
Toews was hoping that he would get back to form as fast as possible, and with 11 minutes and 9 seconds left in the third period, He did just that.
Blackhawks tried to make a play with Toews passing the puck over to forward
Andreas Athanasiou which failed, then they managed to catch a break and tried it again and tapes connected with him and put the game within reach at 4-3.
Dave's finished the game with one assist and played for 14 minutes. many fans hope that this will not be the last they'll see of the beloved captain his rumours have been flying that he was debating on retirement after this season was over.
Time will tell to see if he is willing to join in on the rebuilding efforts of this team and remain with the organization for at least a few more years.
