The Blackhawks acquired Anders Bjork in a trade with the Sabres for «future considerations.» Now, the «future considerations» may never happen. It was most likely just a cap dump that GM Kyle Davidson got, simply getting a player for free.
Before the game against the Nashville Predators tonight, head coach Luke Richardson talked about the new additions from the deadline, in particular Anders Bjork.
Anders is a 26 year old winger. He was drafted in the fifth round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Bjork went to the University of Notre Dame and was an Alternate Captain in his last year there. He also got a spot on the U.S. U17 and U18 National Team. His stats don't really stand out for his age, having played only two NHL games and having 0 points, but having 42 games played with the Rochester Americans (Buffalo Sabres AHL Affiliate), and having 25 points.
