Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard has just learned some very bad news on the upcoming NHL season and it's set to be a rough one, not only for him but for fans.
The 2023 first overall pick who was celebrated by the NHL on July 17th for his 20th birthday is entering his third year in the NHL and has yet to see a winning season in Chicago.
Many believed the Blackhawks would acquire Bedard support through free agency as several prominent names were on the open market such as Mitch Marner, Nikolaj Ehlers, and even Brock Boeser, but the Blackhawks ultimately ended up striking out.
Bedard has recently received some support through the signing of Anton Frondell to his entry-level contract after being drafted 3rd overall recently, but will that be enough to get the Blackhawks out of the NHL's basement?
Chicago Blackhawks in for another rough season of rebuilding hockey
Sadly for Bedard and his teammates, a Chicago Blackhawks fan survey conducted by team reporter Mark Lazerus of The Athletic revealed that it will indeed be another season of consistent losing in Chicago.
"On paper, it's likely going to be another rough season for the Blackhawks. Fans seem to understand that, too. They're less optimistic than going into last season. A year ago, 60.1 percent of the vote went to the Blackhawks finishing in the 71-80 range. As you know, they ended up with 61 points. There were a few people - three in total - who believe the Blackhawks can finish with more than 90 points."

We are now entering year 3 of Kyle Davidson managing the Chicago Blackhawks and we have not seen much improvement, but we must trust he will guide the franchise back to their winning ways sooner than later.
