BREAKING: Nicklas Backstroms NHL Career Very Likely Over..
The Washington Capitals got hit with some very sad news today that Washington Capitals alternate captain Nicklas Backstrom will be undergoing left hip resurfacing surgery, and only 3 NHL players took the risk to do so.
Former Anaheim Ducks player Ryan Kesler underwent the surgery in 2019 and never played a single NHL game again due to the surgery outcome.
Ed Jovanovski was first to do it in 2013. It took him a full year to rehab, he continued to play 37 games and was forced to retire.
Backstrom has had a huge legacy in the NHL with his iconic duo Alex Ovechkin, flashback years ago and both of them on the power play were nearly automatic goal scored.
Some fans showed anger on social media to Backstrom taking the surgery, but there are much bigger things to hockey- HEALTH COMES FIRST!
