This is something that isn't seen much in hockey, but is definitely always a possibility since guys play with skates on. It is weird that it has happened twice in the last week after not really happening anytime relatively close to then. Last week it was Oilers' forward, Evander Kane, who had his wrist sliced by a skate. <div align='center' class='pl20 pr20'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/BradyTrett/status/1590158541830385664?s=20&t=P5ribLapB7y1r_taTw24GQ'> </a></blockquote></div> Unfortunately for Waltteri Merela, it has now happened to him almost a week later during the Karjala Cup. <div class='youtube_container'><iframe class='youtube_video' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/ucPsITlSTjw' width='100%' loading='lazy' frameborder='0' title='' allow='autoplay; fullscreen' allowfullscreen></iframe></div> We hope the best for Merela as this is always a scary situation.
