Alex DeBrincat Returning to Chicago? The Slim Possibility Just Got Bigger
Alex DeBrincat was traded this latest offseason and has sent a sense of disappointment and rage throughout the Blackhawks fanbase. Well not all hope is lost for the Cat's return in Chicago.
News came out that that Alex is hesitant to sign a contract with the Ottawa Senators, and "wants to see how the season goes." This may be music to Hawks fans ears. It has been done before, a team trading away a star player and having them resigning back sooner than later.
New word came out that it wasn't DeBrincat's decision to leave Chicago. Kyle Davidson didn't want to offer him a big, long-term contract during a rebuild. Davidson has a 5-year rebuild plan, and it was an interesting move not to bring back the Cat, as he is a phenomenal young star.
Would have the 40+ goal scorer resigned? There may have been a chance, if the contract was right. But, we will never know; as Davidson never even offered him one.
