Jason Robertson heading to the Chicago Blackhawks: NHL insider Jeff Marek provides a significant update

The Chicago Blackhawks' offseason has been quiet, and the only veteran player they've acquired was Andre Burakovsky in a trade from the Seattle Kraken. But they need someone who can slot in on Connor Bedard's line and increase offensive production.

That could come from the Dallas Stars, as we could see a literal trade unfold for winger Jason Robertson, who scored 80 points last season (35-45).

Robertson could end up being a cap casualty for the Stars, and also given an extension. According to Jeff Marek, possibilities of a trade are on the table which means, GM Jim Nill will have to tap into a team who has the assets to make it happen: the Chicago Blackhawks.

As it stands now, the team only has $1.9 million in cap space, and they need more wiggle room for the future.
