The Edmonton Oilers are a team that badly needs to upgrade their goaltending, as the duo of Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard just will not get it done to bring the 1st elusive Stanley Cup since 1990 back to northern Alberta.
While the Oilers have been linked to other goaltenders, one option was taken away when the Anaheim Ducks traded John Gibson, a reported target for Edmonton, to the Detroit Red Wings.
Another option, though controversial given his ongoing legal situation, is former Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Carter Hart. However, that's apparently not an option, based on the latest reports.
Per analyst Jason Gregor, the Oilers will not have any interest in Hart.
Any report about the Oilers having interest in Carter Hart is incorrect.
Edmonton will not be approaching him, even if he is found not guilty.
There is widespread speculation that the Oilers could potentially lose out on re-signing star captain Connor McDavid if the club doesn't do everything necessary to improve their team, which includes a needed upgrade in net.
Though apparently, Hart will not be part of the conversation, regardless of the outcome of his ongoing legal issues.
