The price for the Chicago Blackhawks to acquire the Toronto Maple Leafs forward Matthew Knies with an offer sheet has been revealed.

The Toronto Maple Leafs' young forward Matthew Knies showed this season that he's developing into a solid NHL player who can be a difference-maker on the ice, with 58 points, including 29 goals in 78 games, and seven points including five goals in 10 playoff games so far.
Knies brings an interesting combination of skills, size, and compete level to the Leafs' top six; qualities that most teams look for in players.
That's why it wouldn't be surprising to see teams try to acquire him this summer. The 22-year-old forward will be a restricted free agent, and if the Leafs don't lock him down fast, other teams are likely going to send offer sheets his way.
Many teams could be interested in him, including the Chicago Blackhawks. Here's what the organization would need to pay to get him.

The price to acquire Matthew Knies gets revealed

Offer sheet compensation packages are given by teams who stole a player, and Elliotte Friedman just confirmed what they will be in a recent publication on Sportsnet.
Like every year, the higher the salary, the bigger the compensation must be.
For a player like Knies, the Leafs are likely to match any offer sheet sent their way, but could struggle due to their precarious financial situation.
For a team like the Blackhawks, with many draft picks available, offering between $9,360,153 to $11,700,192 to Knies could be a tough amount for the Leafs to match, and it would cost two first-round picks, one second-round pick, and a third-round pick, according to Friedman:

The Leafs wouldn't be happy to lose Knies to an offer sheet, but could have no choice but to see the young player walk away.
After all, players can decide if they sign the offer sheet or not. If Knies wants to remain in Toronto, he simply doesn't have to sign it and can wait for a contract offer from the Leafs if he wants to.
Knies and the Leafs will be back in action tonight against the Florida Panthers. The series is currently tied 2-2, and the winner of the game could very well end up being the team that advances to the next playoff round, as more than 80% of Game 5 winners go on to win the series.
