New insight has revealed that the Chicago Blackhawks organization is set to complete an unexpected move with their star-forward, Connor Bedard, before the 2025 NHL draft.

Although the Chicago Blackhawks' NHL 2024/25 season is over, there is no time to rest, as the organization is in dire need of deciding who will replace their current interim head coach, Anders Sorensen, and whoever they choose will be a key factor in the development of their No.1 pick in the 2023 draft, Connor Bedard.
Before the 2023 NHL draft, Bedard was viewed as a generational hockey athlete in the mold of players like Connor McDavid, and although he has proven to be a solid contributor within the Blackhawks organization, he has also faced a few key problems, which could potentially be resolved with the proper guidance from their new and improved head coach replacement.
However, a reporter has revealed new insight regarding some decisions the organization will need to make for the future of the Chicago Blackhawks and their young forward, Bedard.
NHL reporter and lead analyst, Cory Pronman, of The Athletic, announced he believes the Chicago Blackhawks front office and new coaching staff have a massive decision to make this offseason regarding Connor Bedard's future, amid the upcoming draft.
Pronman suggests that the Chicago Blackhawks will move Bedard to the wing and draft center Anton Frondell with the No.3 pick to replace his spot.
This is quite unexpected as Bedard faced the worst cold streak of his career on the wing, and only found his groove back towards the end of this past season once moving back to the center position.
«Frondell brings high-end skill and a complete 200-foot game and fills Chicago's need for a strong two-way pivot to pair with Connor Bedard, who may end up as a long-term winger in the NHL,» Pronman stated.

Typically, the league best forwards tend to play center, however, that might not be Bedard's case, and he appears to have a closer style to Patrick Kane rather than Jonathan Toews.
This being said, the sooner the Blackhawks make the switch, the better, yet, the organization is still in dire need to find their long-term solution at the center position to pair with Bedard and to replace their head coaching position.
Do you think it would be smart for the Chicago Blackhawks to switch Connor Bedard to winger if they use their No.3 draft pick correctly?
