A Chicago Blackhawks forward's time at the IIHF World Championships is unfortunately cut very short after suffering an injury in Tuesday's game against Norway.

The Chicago Blackhawks have several players at this years IIHF World Championships, and sadly for one forward, his tournament is over.

Lukas Reichel suffers injury at World Championships

After being red hot and recording a goal and 4 points in 3 games at the tournament with Team Germany, medical examinations have deemed Blackhawks forward Lukas Reichel no longer eligible for the World Championships, which just started on May 9th.
This is a huge bummer for Reichel, who's built confidence early on and has quickly become one of Team Germany's top players.
The striker sustained an injury in yesterday's game and had to leave the ice early. Following medical examinations, it has now been confirmed that Lukas will unfortunately no longer be able to participate in the World Cup. We wish him a speedy and good recovery!
A recent report confirmed Reichel's future in Chicago is in question, as the 22-year old forward has been granted several opportunities and has failed to capitalize on them.
With this injury, it just about puts a nail in the coffin for Reichel's future in Chicago, especially with several other offensive prospects making the jump to the NHL next season.
