The Utah Hockey Club has officially gotten a new identity, being known from this point on as the "Mammoth"....this caused the Chicago Blackhawks to go viral.

After a full year of being known simply as the Utah Hockey Club, the franchise has finally gotten its long-awaited official moniker.
They're now known as the Utah Mammoth, and have released an eye-catching new logo while keeping their color scheme mostly intact.
The new identity was secured after a fan vote that yielded over 850K total votes.
Team owners Ryan and Ashley Smith released the following statement:
From Day 1, we committed that this team would be built with and for the people of Utah, and we are excited to celebrate today's launch with the entire state. The community chose the Utah Mammoth brand, and it stands as a symbol of who we are, where we came from and the unstoppable force we're building together.

The Chicago Blackhawks, who have faced discussions about potential changes to their long-standing identity and logo, went viral on social media soon after the announcement of Utah was made.
Chicago was the 1st opposition club to face Utah at Delta Center in Salt Lake City in October; Utah won 5-2.
The Blackhawks hope to return to the Stanley Cup Playoffs after missing out the last several years; they landed the 3rd overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft Lottery and want to pick up another exciting young talent that can help them speed up the rebuild process around Connor Bedard.
