NHL insider reveals top three potential trade destinations for Blackhawks veteran Connor Murphy this offseason

The Blackhawks' 32-year old, 12-year veteran, Connor Murphy, has been involved in several trade rumours as of late, and new insight has revealed fans can expect this Chicago defenseman to be on his way out of Chicago by the end of the summer.

Due to this, an insider has reported three potential destinations who could be intertested in acquiring Murphy this offseason.

Connor Murphy could absolutely be acquired by the Jets, as they are in desperate need for a steady shutdown defenseman and this 32-year old would offer them just that.

He would also be a clear fit on the penalty kill, which would make sense as to why they would be prime suitor for Murphy.

The Oilers are also a team to keep an eye on when it comes to this defenseman as well.

It is fair to say that the Edmonton organization would undoubtedly benefit from bringing in another right-handed defenseman that can play top-four minutes and Murphy would provide them with just that.

The Stars could also benefit from bringing in a boost on the right side of their defense, so they could be a team that makes a push for Murphy this offseason as well.

He could be fit on either side of the Stars' second or third pairing if necessary and would be an obvious choice for their penalty kill, due to his defense-first style of play.

It is still unknown of whether or not the Chicago Blackhawks will pull the plug on Connor Murphy, however, it is certain he could be appealing to multiple different teams.
