Rumors continue to swirl around Mason McTavish's name, as the Anaheim Ducks RFA has been linked to the Montreal Canadiens; will the Chicago Blackhawks GM Kyle Davidson, Kent Hughes, and Pat Verbeek combine for a three-way deal?

Training camp is set to begin soon for NHL clubs, as teams and Captains have already begun to train in advance.
In Brossard, news is swirling, as the GM Kent Hughes of the Canadiens has been linked to both the Anaheim Ducks and the Chicago Blackhawks.
It's curious to think of what role the Blackhawks could play in what seems to be a deal that could involve RFA forward Mason McTavish.
A highly sought-after forward during the postseason.

Mason McTavish: A Future Hab or Blackhawk?

He's yet to sign an extension with Pat Verbeek, and this is troubling news for the team, which would love to keep the 52-point center lined up behind Leo Carlsson.
According to NHL Insider officer Bob, three teams are currently on the phone regarding a trade.
For GM Kent Hughes, the addition of Mason McTavish would keep the team in contention and possibly put them where they need to be this year.
Last season, they made the playoffs via Wildcard, and McTavish would make a playoff berth a reality.
For Kyle Davidson, acquiring McTavish would mean the Blackhawks could have a linemate for Connor Bedard.
Or, he could simply be acting in a manner that could facilitate the trade, including retaining salary in exchange for a draft pick.
Though we're speculating that it won't go that route for the Blackhawks. In the meantime, while IB Gamber has some exciting news, we have nothing confirmed quite yet.
But the prospects could very well be great for the Blackhawks.
