The Blackhawks' general manager Kyle Davidson has provided Chicago fans with an update regarding the organization's search for a new head coach.

Chicago's front office promoted their former head coach of the Rockford IceHogs, Anders Sorensen, this past December to become the organization's interim head coach following the firing of the team' previous permanent head coach, Luke Richardson.
However the organization made it pretty clear that Sorensen was a temporary fix for the Blackhawks until they find the right replacement for this young team, or so we thought.
Fast forward to yesterday, a new update has unfolded regarding the Blackhawks in search for a new and improved permanent head coach, and it looks like the team may just promote their current interim head coach.

Blackhawks' general manager Kyle Davidson hints at Anders Sorensen's longevity in Chicago

During his press conference for the draft lottery on Monday, May 5, Davidson said Chicago is seeking a candidate who has experience working with young players, something Sorensen has a track record of doing recently as head coach of the IceHogs.
«I think a coach working with younger players, that will be key because we're going to be a younger team moving forward,» Davidson said via Charlie Roumeliotis of WGN.

Is this hinting at Anders Sorensen dropping the interim label and becoming the Chicago Blackhawks' permanent head coach?
Davidson continued:
«They're going to need someone that's going to allow them to develop and allow them to grow, and through that, grow our status in the win column. That's something that's all connected. We're looking to check a number of boxes there but ultimately want someone that's excited about what's going on in Chicago.»

Davidson then announced how 'appealing' this head coach position is:
«Based on the reaction in my phone every day, it's an appealing job,» Davidson said. «We feel that and we know that, but we've got to find the right person that fits what we're doing and that's kind of the course we're running right now.»
With GM Kyle Davidson revealing how 'appealing' this position is, it looks as though the organization has a lot of options, yet, it seems as though this GM may be more inclined to promote the team's current head coach Anders Sorensen.
