Original six trade underway between the Blackhawks and Maple Leafs: Insider shares info on the possibility
Trade rumors are intensifying as the Toronto Maple Leafs management will be attending tonight's Blackhawks game against the New Jersey Devils at the United Center in Chicago.
NHL Insider David Pagnotta reported today that multiple teams and their scouts will be attending tonight's game against the New Jersey Devils in the United Center.
Included in that group will be the Toronto Maple Leafs, according to Pagnotta. In attendance will be the team's AGM, Hayley Wickenheiser.
Given the depth of talent in both rosters, it's easy to surmise that the Maple Leafs could be looking at both rosters.
But the Blackhawks still could engage in trades later down the road; the team isn't quite where it wants to be. Better than last season, of course, with a record of 8-5-3, and the team running hot, they're certain to catch the eyes of the other 31 teams' leadership.
The trade rumors persist, as the Blackhawks have veteran talent they could afford to give up.
The Chicago Blackhawks in trade rumors again?
Given the dearth of talent on both the NHL roster and the prospect pipeline, there's undoubtedly going to be a lot of interest, especially when it comes to players like
Landon Slaggert, who will be making an appearance tonight.
We're not certain who could be the target of the Blackhawks' former trade partners, the Maple Leafs.
The development of such a storyline will be exciting in the coming weeks, as teams prepare for the trade deadline in March.
