Unfortunate news for Blackhawks' Connor Bedard and his Olympic dreams

Per NHL analysts Pierre LeBrun and Chris Johnston of The Athletic, it looks like Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard will be the odd-man out when it comes to Canada's roster for the Olympics.
Even though there are still decisions to be made when it comes to Canada's roster for the upcoming Olympics, it's looking more and more like Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard could be disappointed.
Bedard is off to a great start this year with the Blackhawks and is already on pace for a new career-best in points, and right now has the Blackhawks in a good position to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2020 if they keep going.
But if it came down to a choice between him and San Jose Shark forward
Macklin Celebrini, who is also a former 1st overall pick in the NHL Entry Draft, NHL analysts Pierre LeBrun and Chris Johnston believe they could go with the Sharks forward.
"Bedard has played extremely well for the up-and-coming Chicago Blackhawks so far this season - exploding for seven points during a pair of weekend wins - but we just wonder if Team Canada sees fit to have two youngsters in him and Celebrini both on the roster. Management is bracing for a «grown-up's game» in Milan. It feels like one or the other, and right now the Sharks star is in pole position."
Connor Bedard Badly Wants To Play For Canada
Bedard was
infamously snubbed from the Canada roster during the 4 Nations Faceoff, and he attributed it to being off to a slow start last year.
But because he's off to the opposite start this year, his chances of playing for Canada are naturally rising.
He'd love nothing more than to represent his home country in the highest level of international competition, but may have to settle for waiting another year based on the speculation from LeBrun and Johnston.
