NHL Stanley Cup Champion and member of the Chicago Blackhawks officially announces his retirement

Marcus Kruger, a former two-time Stanley Cup Champion with the Chicago Blackhawks, has retired from professional hockey after playing two seasons in Djurgardens IF.
The
Chicago Blackhawks dynasty is chock-full of players who have continued their careers in front offices in the NHL or have continued skating overseas.
Before landing in Sweden, he played three years in Switzerland with Zurich SC in the Swiss-A league.
Marcus Kruger is in the latter part of the group, as he has chosen to retire from professional hockey after playing two seasons in Sweden with Djugardens IF.
We've found footage of his last game in Sweden, and he was given a great farewell ceremony in the SHL.
The former Blackhawks center has continued to be productive even in the twilight of his career in the SHL.
This season in he's played 48 games for Djurgarden, and has scored a total of 36 points (15 goals, 21 assists).
He's played a total of 520 NHL games during his career in North America and won two Stanley Cups. He's scored a total of 123 points (38 goals, 85 assists).
Kruger was a great skater for the Hawks in the playoffs as well, playing 87 playoff games, scoring a total of 16 points (6 goals, 10 assists).
The former depth forward played his last NHL season with the Blackhawks during the 2018-2019 season, where he'd play 74 games, and score a total of 12 points (4 goals, 8 assists) after a short stint of 48 games in Carolina the year before.
