Kirill Kaprizov predicted to land with Central division team that you wouldn't expect
Given the latest drama surrounding Kirill Kaprizov and the Wild, he's been predicted to be acquired through trade by another Central Division team-none other than the Chicago Blackhawks.
There is ongoing drama between Kirill Kaprizov and the Minnesota Wild, as the superstar forward allegedly turned down a contract with an AAV (average annual value) of $16 million.
It would have made him the highest-paid player in NHL history, but Wild GM Bill Guerin seemed to push back on those allegations by saying that information never came from them.
Meanwhile, Kaprizov is being linked to a Central Division foe-the Chicago Blackhawks.
Per analyst Adam Gretz of Bleacher Report, the Blackhawks
have both the salary cap space and the need for star power available to make a deal possible.
"The Blackhawks have the type of salary cap space that could take on Kaprizov's contract both now and in the future, and they desperately - DESPERATELY - need to start building something around
Connor Bedard that isn't just a hope and a prayer with all of their prospects trying to learn in the NHL at the same time."
What an amazing acquisition it would be for Chicago if Kyle Davidson were to make something happen.
Kirill Kaprizov would be the 1st bonafide superstar player in Chicago since Patrick Kane
The last time the Blackhawks had such a player was during the dynasty days of Patrick Kane and
Jonathan Toews.
Kaprizov would easily become the best player since that era and would immediately turn Chicago into a playoff contender.
Add a few more pieces to the mix, and Chicago could also soon be back in Stanley Cup contention.
