Ex-Blackhawk Lukas Reichel replays gut-wrenching moment he found out he was traded

Former Blackhawks forward Lukas Reichel describes how he found out he was traded from Chicago to Vancouver while he was shopping for a Halloween costume.
The Chicago Blackhawks decided to end the Lukas Reichel era, trading him to the Vancouver Canucks for a 4th-round pick in the 2027 NHL Entry Draft.
Reichel had only 4 points (2G, 2A) in the games leading up to the trade, which caught him a bit by surprise.
He said that he was out shopping with teammate Teuvo Teravainen for a Halloween costume for an upcoming party when he got the call that he'd been dealt to the Canucks.

Of course, the process of being traded and having to play a game almost immediately with your new team is a quick one, as Reichel found out.
It was really quick, everything. I just can't wait to settle in a little bit and have a couple of practices and games in here. Then, I'll probably feel more comfortable.
Reichel made his Canucks debut on Saturday against the Montreal Canadiens in a 4-3 loss.
Lukas Reichel can become an RFA in the summer
Reichel is playing in the last year of his contract with an AAV (average annual value) of $1.2 million, and he'll be an RFA in the summer.
He was taken with the 17th overall pick by the Blackhawks in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft and had 58 points (22G, 36A) in 174 games before being moved to the Canucks by Chicago.
