In the win against the Detroit Red Wings, Connor Bedard added another chapter to the Chicago Blackhawks history books by accomplishing something not seen in a decade.
After 16 games, the 20-year-old forward tallied 25 points, including nine goals, putting him at the 2nd rank in the NHL among scorers, tied with
Leo Carlsson, only four points behind
Nathan MacKinnon.
Bedard has been red hot in the past week, tallying nine points in his last three games.
Bedard Makes Blackhawks History With Three-Point Game Against The Red Wings
The Hawks have been among the surprising teams so far this year. A lot of that success can be attributed to Bedard and
Spencer Knight.
Against the Red Wings, Bedard performed well, giving his team the lead less than a minute into the first period:
With that goal, the 54th of his career, he tied Denis Savard for the fifth most by a Hawks player under 21 years old.
With that three-point game, he became the second player in Hawks history to have consecutive three-point games twice before turning 21.
With his nine points in the past three road games, he joined only four players who tallied as many points since 1967:
Patrick Kane, Bernie Nicholls, Steve Larmer, and Denis Savard.
With his 25 points so far this season, tallied Patrick Kane as the faster Hawks lpayer to do so in the past 35 years.
Finally, Bedard was named the second star of the week in the NHL:
