Chicago Blackhawks star prospect completes crucial career decision

Blackhawks prospect Dominic James is heading back to the University of Minnesota-Duluth for his senior year in 2024-25, according to Scott Powers of The Athletic.
The Bulldogs' alternate captain had his season cut short in October after just two games due to an upper-body injury that required surgery, ending his campaign early.
Despite considering an entry-level contract from Chicago, it would've been tough for James to make the leap to the pros after such a long time off the ice.
James, 21, wasn't drafted in his first two tries before the Blackhawks picked him in the sixth round of the 2022 draft.
In his standout freshman season with the Bulldogs, he tallied six goals and 18 points in 39 games, helping his team win the NCHC championship and earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
He also represented the U.S. at the 2022 World Juniors, contributing an assist in five games.
