Chicago Blackhawks set to cut ties with three players this off-season

The Chicago Blackhawks are poised to be moving on from 3 different players this summer as GM Kyle Davidson continues his work building the club.
It was another brutal year in Chicago, as the Blackhawks missed the Stanley Cup Playoffs once again as their painful rebuilding process continues.
Not only did Chicago fire head coach Luke Richardson in November and replace him with AHL coach Anders Sorenson, but former 1st round pick
Connor Bedard was openly frustrated at various points during the year.
First, they list defenseman
T.J. Brodie and said Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson should buy out the last year of his contract:
Teams seemed to score at will with him on the ice. Here is the toughest part, he is signed through next season.
Clearly, he will go down as one of Davidson's worst free agent signings. Now all that is left is to buy out his final year and move on.
Brodie played in 54 games with 10 points (2G, 8A) and an unappealing -18 rating.
Next, BlackhawkUp lists forward
Andreas Athanasiou as someone who won't be back with Chicago next year.
Injuries derailed his 2023-24 season, and after giving no production this season, it makes it easy for the Hawks to wish him the best in his future endeavors.
Athanasiou only appeared in 8 games, scoring once; he was also waived by the team and spent time in the AHL.
Finally, BlackhawkUp lists
Philipp Kurashev, who was often made a healthy scratch, as someone who shouldn't be back with Chicago.
He spent a good chunk of the season being a healthy scratch. There is no reason to tender him a contract even if he is still 25 since the Blackhawks have plenty of exciting forward prospects who can easily replace him.
He appeared in 51 games with 14 points (7G, 7A).
