Prominent NHL insider reveals head coach Joel Quenneville's new team

NHL Insider John Buccigross gave us a cryptic idea of what Joel Quenneville's future will look like. He's still on the hunt for a coaching gig and, after being reinstated last July, hasn't given up on his goal of finding a new job.

Quenneville has won three Stanley Cups during the Chicago Blackhawks dynasty and is one of the winningest coaches in the NHL.

He could be bringing that experience out west into Anaheim Ducks territory, if GM Pat Verbeek could successfully lure him out there.

Coach Quenneville was last seen as the bench boss of the Florida Panthers in 2021, until he resigned due to fallout from the Kyle Beach incident.

He and former Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman would put in the work to be reinstated to find a new job in the league.

Bowman would find himself a new gig taking over from Ken Holland in Edmonton, now GM of the Oilers, in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Quenneville's story has been more tenuous as he's put out the feelers for a new role, with a different team, but hasn't had much luck due to the black mark on his record.

Now, this could be a major development for Coach Quenneville and his eventual return to the league.

He could turn the Anaheim Ducks from a struggling unit and turn them into winners, after they swiftly fired former Head Coach Greg Cronin.

Quenneville could lead a star-studded roster full of players like Mason McTavish, Trevor Zegras, Leo Carlsson, and former Panther Radko Gudas into a competitive squad.

However, we want to proceed with caution regarding the tweet, as again John Buccigross may be a respected NHL Insider, but take this with a grain of salt until something more substantial appears.
