Ahead of the Chicago Blackhawks facing off against the New Jersey Devils for a 7:30 p.m puck drop at the United Center on Wednesday, the team has issued a large statement on 19-year old former first overall pick Connor Bedard, who has been on a cold streak as of late.

The Chicago Blackhawks were supposed to be done their 'rebuilding' this season but the product on the ice clearly contests that, sitting in the second worst spot in the NHL ahead of the San Jose Sharks, the same exact standings as last season.
One brightside is that 2023-24 season, the organization was granted the second-overall draft selection in that summers draft, selecting Artyom Levshunov.
The Blackhawks are poised to earn another top 3 draft pick this summer with high odds of winning the lottery, and it will potentially give Connor Bedard a linemate who can play up to his skill level, with a forward-loaded draft class.

Bedard's one man show in Chicago

The 19-year olds lack of support within the roster is rough, and his frustrations have lead to concerning reports of the young stars mental health.
Despite the criticism he has faced, Bedard is still having quite the solid season, and in a substantial statement released by the Blackhawks, things are going better than expected.
The former first overall pick has now joined ex-fan favorite, turned Detroit Red Wings forward Patrick Kane, alongside Jonathan Toews, Artemi Panarin and Alex DeBrincat as only the fifth Blackhawks in the past 20 years to begin his career with back-to-back 20-goal seasons.
As the Blackhawks continue to develop around franchise-center Connor Bedard, critics continue to be hushed by his on-ice play, and record-breaking features.
