NHL Insider Frank Seravalli has dropped a details list of eleven players, including Blackhawks goalie Arvid Soderblom, who have filed for arbitration, taking GM Kyle Davidson to a third party to get a reasonable payday.
Chicago Blackhawks goalie
Arvid Soderblom has elected to take his next contract negotiation to a third party to get a fair deal with the Blackhawks.
This, instead of trusting the process with the team. Soderblom proved himself capable of playing to the best of his abilities in 2024-25, a rebound from a 2023-24 season that saw him disappoint Blackhawks fans everywhere.
This season, he was arbitration-eligible after his $962K contract expired rendering Soderblom an RFA.
Now, the fun begins, as Kyle Davidson and the team will go through a painful process of finding the right AAV for his new deal.
The deadline for other NHLers to make the list for arbitration will end Sunday, which means the list could expand soon.
The deadline for the second club-elected salary arbitration notification is tomorrow (Sunday, July 6) at 4 PM CT. Salary arbitration hearings will be held from July 20 to Aug. 4.
For now, Kyle Davidson has addressed the situation with
Arvid Soderblom, which suggests a new deal could be on the way before the team and Soderblom make it to arbitration.
Soderblom finished the 2024-25 season with a record of 10-18-7, 3.18 GAA, and .898 save percentage.
