Sadly for the Rockford IceHogs, everything went wrong in three straight games for the Blackhawks' youth.
The IceHogs were up 2-0 in their series against
the Nashville Predators' AHL team, the Admirals, and headed back to Rockford for their home-ice advantage games, where they would ultimately end up losing three straight to be eliminated.
The Blackhawks have five players total playing in the tournament, which kicked off on Friday.
After an assist for Team USA, Nazar then posted a two-goal game in
the Americans' 6-0 win over Hungary on Sunday, which would lead to him being named player of the game. Fellow Blackhawks and USA teammate, Alex Vlasic, also picked up two points in the same game.
Nazar wasn't the only Blackhawk to earn the player of the game, as Lukas Reichel earned the same honors, posting up two assists in Team Germany's 6-1 win over Hungary on Saturday.
Reichel continued his hot streak into Sunday's game against Kazakhstan, earning his first goal of the tournament in their 4-1 win.
Teravainen was named player of the game for Finland's opening game on Friday, and a goal and an assist on Sunday in their 4-3 overtime win against France.
While the tournament is just in it's beginning roots, us at Hawksinsider will continue to provide constant updates on the several Blackhawks participating this year!
