Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard has issued a significant statement
Connor Bedard won a Calder Trophy in his first season in the NHL, and now GM Kyle Davidson and Chicago Blackhawks fans want to see him take a step forward; his offseason plans will account for that.
The Chicago Blackhawks have put their full faith in
Connor Bedard to develop into the generational talent they drafted him to be.
The team finished the season with a record of 25-46-11, and 8th in the Central Division. A record that no one should be satisfied with.
Bedard himself has pledged to work on his game during the offseason, in addition to getting better. He said he's focused on improving his skating and explosiveness.
«I think the biggest thing is speed and explosiveness is No. 1 for me,» he said. «That's always been my big thing. Just kind of learn about my body a bit and how to keep consistency throughout the year and stuff like that.
»Just try to learn as much as I can. Hopefully it's a successful offseason.»
This offseason will be different as the focus will be on his biomechanics and efficiency.
The sophomore
Blackhawks 1C finished his season playing an entire 82-game season, and scored 67 points (23 goals, 44 assists), an increase of production by six points compared to his rookie year.
While he may not be a 100-point player in the NHL just yet, it appears he'll keep working on it until it happens.
For now, questions remain not only about his ability to hold the burden of the Blackhawks franchise on his shoulders, but also whether or not he'd re-sign in Chicago.
He's clarified his statements and reassured fans that he loves
Chicago. Will he lead the team into the next dynasty as talent continues to siphon into the lineup?
