Chicago Blackhawks' top prospect Nick Lardis suffered a brutal injury during a recent OHL playoff game, and the young star has just announced the severity of his injuries.

The Chicago Blackhawks top prospect, Nick Lardis, endured what seemed to be an extremely worrisome injury last week after being hit in a knee-to-knee collision by the Oshawa Generals defenseman, Andrew Gibson, a Detroit Red Wings prospect during an OHL playoff match.
Take a look:
However, on Thursday, April 24, the young prospect broke his silence regarding the incident:
«At the moment, it's kind of you don't know what it is,» Lardis said on Thursday. «You have a lot of pain. You're kind of thinking of the worst but also being optimistic as well, hoping it's something not as bad so you can get back out there in a game or two. It was obviously pretty scary what happened.»

Luckily, Lardis later revealed the injuries aren't as severe as some people feared, giving Blackhawks fans a massive sigh of relief.
«There's no long-term effects that will come from this injury,» Lardis said. «There's no surgery involved or anything. It's just more of resting it for a little bit, like a week or two, then starting the rehabbing as well. I should be good, hopefully, in a couple weeks here, or a little longer. I'll have the whole summer here to kind of train and be 100 percent, ready for next year, which is really good.»
Although it is upsetting that Lardis had to miss out on the rest of the Brantford Bulldogs' playoff run, it is great news that he will be able to fully recover without any need of surgery or anything.
This is also great news for the Chicago Blackhawks, and fans can expect Lardis fully recovered by the 2025/26 season.
