The Chicago Blackhawks' head coach position is current filled by the shoes of Anders Sorensen, but according to general manager Kyle Davidson a bench boss is incoming.
Luke Richardson was fired early on in the 2024-25 season which lead to the Rockford IceHogs' AHL head coach, Anders Sorensen, to be promoted as interim coach of the Chicago Blackhawks in his first ever NHL level coaching gig.
It left the door open with a big opportunity for Sorensen, but he ultimately fumbled by making some interesting decisions that show his lack of experience.
One of those decisions entailed having a new set of linemates for Bedard in each NHL game he took on this past season.
Nearly up until the final week of the year the 19-year old experienced new faces on his line every night.
In the first 57 games of the season,
Connor Bedard has had 36 different line combinations. This is a HUGE problem that must be fixed this summer.
Davidson reveals his next move will be finding a permanent coach: «It's a huge decision,» he said. «We're thinking about how that profile looks and what the team will look like and what they'll need in a coach.»
According to
a recent report by Frank Seravalli, the Blackhawks are circling David Carle as the frontrunner in their coaching search.
The young coach is currently leading the coaching staff at the University of Denver and has two NCAA National Championships underneath his belt, alongside three NCHC Championships and two World Junior Gold Medals.
What's quite impressive on his resume is that he's coached several players of the Chicago Blackhawks organization.
it will be interesting to hear the official announcement upcoming in the next few weeks and the rumors be put to rest.
