The Chicago Blackhawks have acquired a two-time Stanley Cup Champion from the Seattle Kraken in exchange for forward Joe Veleno.
General manager Kyle Davidson is getting quite the early start to his offseason as an official trade has been completed moments ago, the Blackhawks stated.
Heading to the Blackhawks is 6-foot-3, 203-pound forward Andre Burakovsky, who has won a Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche and Washington Capitals in recent years.
Fans should be excited to finally be able to witness some size in the lineup, as Burakovsky plays a fast and gritty game, using his big body to his advantage.
The 30-year old forward has two years left on his current deal of a $5.5 million cap hit, and is coming off a 37-point season in 79 games with the Seattle Kraken last season.
