New insight suggests former Chicago Blackhawks' Jonathan Toews's health is not one hundred percent, as the Winnipeg Jets have completed a major roster move.
Jonathan Toews' long-awaited NHL return will have to wait longer than fans anticipated, as the Winnipeg Jets have officially placed their former Stanley Cup champion on injury reserve to start off the year.
Per NHL insider Murat Ates, this veteran has been placed on the Jets' injury reserve, just moments before the NHL season was set to begin.
«Jonathan Toews believed to be a late addition to the #NHLJets IR. He practiced with the team on Sunday for the first time since tweaking something in preseason.
That leaves
Parker Ford and
Brad Lambert on the Jets roster to start.
We'll see how Winnipeg looks at practice.»
Toews practiced with the team on Sunday for the first time since he tweaked something in preseason, which is evidently a good sign, yet his placement on IR has created panic within Winnipeg and among Jets fans.
Now, Parker Ford and Brad Lambert will be on the Jets' roster to start the team's first game.
Hopefully, the Jets' upcoming practice will give more insight into whether or not Toews' recovery will be quick or not.
