Montreal Canadiens forward Ivan Demidov is set to make his NHL debut against the Chicago Blackhawks at the Bell Centre today, but a last-minute cancellation changes things for the 19-year-old forward.

Real recognizes real, and the strong Chicago Blackhawks fan base can hold no doubt to admit that Montreal and their fans are one of the best opposing franchises in the NHL, as well as the best-atmosphered arena to play at.
Their fans have been going crazy since the big announcement last week of Ivan Demidov, their top prospect, arriving to North America after dominating the KHL. Fans were even seen on video arriving at the airport once he arrived off the plane, prompting a police escort due to the number of Habs fans that swarmed the airport.
Demidov is the KHL's all-time single season points leader by a player under 20 years of age.
The hype has still yet to settle down, and it'll now be poured onto the Chicago Blackhawks on Monday as they face off against the Canadiens in what is expected to be Ivan Demidov's NHL debut, but there has been a cancellation announced.
Despite the hype surrounding their former 5th overall pick, an unexpected press conference involving general manager Kent Hughes and Demidov was canceled according to Habsetlnh, that was supposed to be an introduction to the phenom.
Instead, Demidov will address the media after the game ends, likely in hopes of keeping away any distractions from the Blackhawks and Canadiens media.
"The Canadiens announce that Ivan Demidov will not speak to the media before tonight's game against the Blackhawks.

He will speak after tonight's game.

General manager Kent Hughes will speak to the media after the morning skate."
A smart cancellation move by the Canadiens to help the rookie focus on his NHL debut against the Blackhawks.
Now it's on Connor Bedard and the Blackhawks to spoil the Canadiens hopes for a playoff-clinching win, and Ivan Demidov's infamously awaited debut.
