The Chicago Blackhawks kicked off their training camp, and General Manager Kyle Davidson had a special announcement for the team today.
Nick Foligno has been named the 35th captain in Blackhawks history, with Seth Jones and Connor Murphy stepping into the roles of assistant captains for the upcoming season.
The announcement took the entire team by surprise, including Foligno himself.
Connor Murphy, the team's longest-tenured active player, added, «The C' really suits him. It's not easy to come in during your first year and make such an impact, but he's done it, and it's well deserved.»
Seth Jones and Connor Murphy will support Foligno as assistant captains, helping lead the Blackhawks into this new season.
