An intriguing Montreal Canadiens player was spotted with the Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Spencer Knight on the ice.
The rivalry between the Montreal Canadiens and the Chicago Blackhawks has greatly diminished over the years. Back in the Original Six era, both teams hated each other with fierce passion.
Now, with 32 teams in the league, and with the Hawks and the Habs being in separate conferences, it's safe to say they don't hate each other as much as they used to.
An intriguing development confirmed that a Montreal Canadiens forward is actually spending time with the Hawks goalie Spencer Knight during the offseason.
Caufield and Knight, who were teammates for Team USA during two World Junior Championships, in 2020 and 2021, have spent time together on the ice during the offseason.
Indeed, they were spotted in a picture alongside other NHLers, training on the ice in Michigan, such as Detroit Red Wings' captain
Dylan Larkin, Vancouver Canucks' captain
Quinn Hughes, as well as Buffalo Sabres' forward
Josh Norris.
In the picture, a special guest also appeared: Larkin's child.

Caufield has been among the most dynamic players in the League since he came from the NCAA.
The 2020-21 Hobey Baker winner tallied 219 points, including 118 goals, in 287 NHL games since he was drafted 15th overall by the Canadiens in 2019. Last season, he had the best tally of his career, with 37 goals and 33 assists in 82 games.
The Blackhawks and the Canadiens will meet on the ice for the Hawks' home opener on October 11th.
