According to a recent report, a breakup between Patrick Kane and the Detroit Red Wings could very well be in play this summer.

Patrick Kane would like to win another Stanley Cup, and if the Detroit Red Wings don't make some significant moves this offseason, Kane could be looking to sign with a contender.

Kane's a pending unrestricted free agent, and even at 36 years old, there's going to be a ton of interest in his services.

Kane tallied up 21 goals and 59 points in 72 games this past season as an aging veteran coming off of hip resurfacing, a truly impressive feat.
The three-time Stanley Cup Champion is reportedly seeking a two-year contract on the open market, according to the report.

Patrick Kane reuinion with the Chicago Blackhawks not closed off

Despite Jonathan Toews not willing to re-join the Blackhawks in his NHL return, Patrick Kane could very well be considering it.
With a formidable offence of youth built by Kyle Davidson, a 'showtime' presence in Patrick Kane could certainly lead charge, and this roster back to their winning ways.
The report also highlights the Toronto Maple Leafs, who are on the verge of having a big summer with the departure of Mitch Marner, as targeting Kane.
If money's in talk, the Blackhawks have a substantial amount of cap space to give Kane the proper contract he deserves, while letting him finish off a few franchise records in Chicago that he's near completing, before he retires.
The Winnipeg Jets, who confirmed their interest to sign Kane's former teammate, Toews, are also in on Kane if he hits the open market.
As July 1st free agency is quickly approaching, we are set to learn Kane's potential fate with the Chicago Blackhawks, and the Detroit Red Wings.
