They are also one loss away from coughing up back-to-back Stanley Cups to the Florida Panthers in the final, with their backs now up against the wall.
Win and the Oilers can have the opportunity to win the cup on home ice in a Game 7 scenario. Lose? The season is over.
The stakes are higher than ever for both sides tonight, the biggest game of the entire year; and most careers.
Who will get the start in goal for the Edmonton Oilers in Game 6?
Will Calvin Pickard, who was 7-0 in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, or Stuart Skinner get the nod?
Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch was asked about his scenario between the pipes, and his answer was surprising.

«It's who we feel can win us a game,» Knoblauch said after practice. "That's how it's gone in other games, and we'll make that decision.»
