A major signing by the Chicago Blackhawks during free agency has just been revealed

The Chicago Blackhawks have a golden goose in Connor Bedard, who will continue to fill the United Center as long as he has a contract in the Windy City, all depending on how quickly Kyle Davidson can re-sign him.
The Chicago Blackhawks and Connor Bedard are building the foundation of a winning team together. Soon enough, Bedard will be finishing his first entry-level contract in the NHL, which pays him a meager $925K AAV, and will be due a new deal soon.
With multiple pundits suggesting Bedard hold off on signing with the Blackhawks until they have a solid game plan to win, we all thought Bedard may heed their warning and put off negotiations with Kyle Davidson.
Bedard and the team could begin negotiations for an extension on July 1st, and despite all evidence to the contrary, he hasn't spoken a word about leaving the team. Instead, he's put all his cards in Chicago and believes they're building something special here.
Which should put fans' minds at ease.
After two seasons where he's scored 61 points and won a Calder Trophy, and would follow it up with a full 82-game season, scoring 67 to which the Blackhawks should be happy with, his growth. His development isn't complete yet,
If history teaches us anything, Kyle Davidson will prioritize Bedard's contract at the start of free agency, just as the Oilers did with Connor McDavid in July 2017. A contract he is still on to this day.
The Blackhawks will keep Bedard as a Blackhawk as long as they can, and we should expect the future superstar to have a contract with some term in 2025-2026.
