The NHL has issued a statement on Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard and San Jose Sharks' Macklin Celebrini, the 2023 and 2024 first overall picks.
Connor Bedard and Macklin Celebrini are poised to be compared by analysts and experts for their whole careers, like we saw with Alex Ovechkin and
Sidney Crosby.
Both players are set to become superstars in the NHL and compete together on the ice for Team Canada for many years.
In a new development, we learned that the two players have been training together in Vancouver during the NHL offseason. The two players were born in Vancouver and played their junior hockey in that area.
The NHL shared a video of them on the ice during drills:
It's safe to say that the Sharks and the Blackhawks could end up becoming two of the toughest teams to beat in the entire NHL in no time.
Bedard, who'll turn 20 later in the month, will start his third NHL season next fall. In 150 career games, he's tallied 128 points, including 45 goals.
As for Celebrini, who just turned 19, he tallied 63 points, including 25 goals last season in his rookie year.
It's great to see the two of them on the ice together working on their skills. Working out alongside the best is a great way to get better, something both the Sharks and Hawks' fanbases will be glad to see.
