The Hockey community in Nova Scotia is mourning the loss of Goalie Coach Peter Johnson who died at the age of 65.

Johnson passed away on March 2nd, at the age of 65 and he was surrounded by his loved ones in Aberdeen Hospital, in Glasgow NS when it happened.
Peter Johnson touched numerous lives during his time in the hockey world and began his career in St. Johns, Newfoundland.
He followed in his father's footsteps who had the same level of passion for the sport, as his dad played on a local, national, and international level of the game.
Johnson would play and coach and affect many lives positively in the NL area coaching kids and teaching them the beautiful sport of hockey.
He would coach kids all around the world from St John's, NL to Greenville, SC, and even in France.
However, his love of https://www.nhl.com/blackhawks/news/seattle-kraken-chicago-blackhawks-game-recap-march-18-x8582 wasn't his only calling as he'd earned his Engineering degree from the Memorial University in Newfoundland, and would work at the Michelin Plant in 1988 and followed his passion for engineering across the globe.
Johns would start at the Pictou Plant In Nova Scotia, and those 37 years saw him utilize his capabilities to travel the world and take his family to France, Greenville, SC, and back to Pictou County in 2019.
Not only was Peter an excellent goalie coach who helped kids succeed at the sport of hockey, while imparting great wisdom upon them, he was a great engineer too.
He made many contributions to Michelin over his career and one of his proudest moments was when he recently received a Lifetime Achievement Award for his impact globally to Michelin. His endless energy, boundless vision, and commitment inspired all who worked with him to make progress in ways they never thought possible.

Peter Johnson touched more lives through the sport of hockey than we'll ever know, as he was able to make an impact in multiple communities and countries across two continents.
He was also a diehard Philadelphia Flyers fan, who lived and breathed the Broad St. Bullies organization and showed unwavering loyalty to their franchise.
We send our deepest condolences to the Johnson family, friends, and colleagues who now will miss the presence of Peter in their lives.
Visitation will be held on March 5th at 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at HW Angus Funeral Home in New Glasgow.
