Teemu Selanne, former NHL player and widely known as a legend who played for the Anaheim Ducks and Winnipeg Jets, recently retired to focus on his son Leevi Selanne and his hockey journey. Well, Leevi has received some unfortunate news.

Leevi Selanne was informed that he would be released from his contract with the Hoki Kajaani.

"The player agreement between Leevi Selanne and Kajaani Hockey has been terminated in agreement for the 2024-2025 season. The option for the next season, that was in Atte Peltonen's contract, was also not used. We want to thank Leevi and Atte for their time in Kajaani and wish them all the best for the future! 🤝
Our own parents Samppa Kemppainen and Noa Tuomainen will also represent Hockey in the 2024-2025 season according to their agreements."

Leevi wowed and worked his way through youth hockey, and got a chance to play in the second Finnish teer league of Metsis. He only played 23 games until the Kajaami saw enough. Selanne only had four points in those 23 contests.

Leevi has big shoes to fill, but he'll need to pick it back up and keep going as he's only 24 years old and has a whole future ahead of him.
